While that's true, and there's plenty of reason to get excited about Murray's growth in Teal, I think based on age he was going to restricted free agency (meaning it would have been hard for another GM to pry him from the Sharks next summer, even without this extension).
Still, technicalities. Good signing.
Whoops! Scratch that -- he was going to be unrestricted.
